These wick sizes are starting recommendations only. The final wick size depends on the wax, fragrance load, colourants, additives and other formulation variables.

Always carry out a full burn test before producing larger batches.

Preparation

Before making a candle, ensure that the inside of the tin is:

• clean;
• completely dry;
• free from dust and grease.

If the container is washed, allow it to dry completely before pouring wax.

For metal candle tins, wick sustainers with a longer neck are recommended to help extinguish the flame before it reaches the thin metal base.

Candle Safety

Always burn the candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.

Metal containers can become very hot during use. Do not touch or move the tin while the candle is burning, and never leave a burning candle unattended.
